2월 15일 Crystal's - Papal Audience
Yesterday, my parents and Crystal had an opportunity to be at the "Papal Audience", which is held on Wednesday at St Peter's square. There was a large crowd, as usual, and only a few get the moment to meet His Excellency, the Pope. There are the official photographers that click Pictures of people's visit and post them on the net, so you could place an order for the same. My parents & Crystal is located here. This site is in Italian - so anyone out there able to read Italian will know how to maneuver the page. 2월 13일 Happy Valentine everyone I sound like a person who has crossed by age - holding on to a walking stick - lecturering a bunch of Grand Children. I don't mean to but I see what's happening around me. Some close friends mess up their relationship and, before you know it, things have gone their own way & then it's too late to make amends. My advise, whatever the situation may be - never let it hang on for tommorrow cause tomorrow may not come! Patch up the difference at the same time. You'll see that you had spend more time together than what would have become. Now, I take this opportunity to wish my wife & daughters, my parents & in-laws, uncles & aunts, cousins & friends - A loving Valentine day to you today and, for the rest of your life, love always... "I Want Tal Back"
My parents and Crystal have been keeping in touch through SMS and whenever possible we've been calling on my Dad's mobile (roaming line from Kuwait). Crystal has been enjoying herself so far. Seeing the snow, visiting holy places in Lourdes... and now look forward to get news from Rome. I will be posting more pics when Crystal gets back. All her memories of her 1st trip to Europe with her grand parents. 2월 5일 New Number Plates for KuwaitIt looks like we, living in Kuwait, will have to replace our number plates with new ones.
Mark, a blogger from Kuwait, has a posting regarding this matter. Don’t know whether to consider this a “change for the better or worse” or “is this actually necessary with all the extra expenses for expats”. Some bloggers have seen the new plates on the street and consider it to look boring. Some questions come to mind (as a programmer):
1) What is the starting sequence of the number – “0” or “1000”?
2) Would “9999” be the last number for each governate, assuming the top digit “1” stands for the same?
3) Will each 4 digit number be unique or will be a combination of the governate digit and the lower digits?
4) In case, there’s a “hit and run” case, are we expected to memorize the sequence of numbers?
Wow, these questions bring back memories of college, when we were handed programming assignments & projects. We had to come up with a brain-storming session of various situation and possibilities or outcomes, while following the rules and procedures… It sounds all high-tech but it’s basically logical. Remember (students into programming), prepare a draft of your thoughts and get them on paper (preferred a flow chart). I found drawing an easy way to express analytical thoughts. Till now, I flow the same procedure but there are times I mess up with the different symbols of the flow chart and end up just having plain boxes… LOL… Nope I no longer do programming at work but have taken up as a hobby and experimenting with Microsoft Access. Now days, the tools made for programming are million times easier that my college days. We had no windows, worked on DOS and had to memorize each language editor and the control keys “online help was sometimes tricky to get access to”.
Anyways, “Number plates” to “Programming guide” was quite a jump. Anyways, as usually, I look forward for your input. 2월 2일 ICSK - 4th Carnival 2007Today, Indian Community School (ICSK) held their 4th Carnival at the Senoir Girl's Building. There was a large crowd there - lots of kids and parents. Some enjoying the event - some meeting old friends - some just "site-seeing" (or what you may call?).
Well, we took couple of rounds wondering what game or games to play. I'm not into these games because I don't seem to get lucky with any. The girls and their mother are surely lucky. They took part in couple of games... They won the "Car Race" & "Choose the number category"... They tried they luck with "Read color words", that's a tricky game: you are givine color in words and the word are printed in random colors except the one that is spelt out. Am I making any sense?? Say the Color "RED" was printed in words of "BLUE"... They confused the mind... You're mind sees color RED but does not want to spell the word "BLUE" and "RED". There was about a page full (about 30 colors) - and has to be read in 1 minute!!
There is alot to to said of the event... I guess I may bore you to death... Well, like we say all good events have to come to an end.
Overall, the weekend was quite nice and busy. |
