1월 31일 Crystal's Class New Year PartyThe Indian Community School, Junior Branch, had their New Year Party held on 17th January, celebrated by each class with fun for all kids. From what Crystal's told me, they had cakes, chips, pizzas, juices, etc... And played games like Musical Chairs, Passing the Parcel... These are common Indian games held during parties - especially fun for kids. Yes, that's the only time they get to run in class... LOL... Name of Crystal's classmates at the Party (Left to right) Last Row: Rukiya Mirza, Silna, Michelle, Satya, Aparna, Abde Manf, Grace, Hamed, Vivek, Niranjan, Mohammed, Yusuf, Mustafa, Ryan, Ms. Neena (Class Teacher) 1월 30일 Enjoy this blogHi All & welcome to our blog...

Tell me... tell me... The Girls weekend with Donny (Part 1)Who is Donny, you ask? Donny is my parent's dog. A really cute white 3 months old & I think he is a Fox Terrier-Wire. While my parents are on va Well, a week passed, we visited & spend sometime with Donny - dropping by to give him food. The girls still would "hello" him from far and gradually drew closer to him. Last weekend, we decided to bring him over to our home, bathe him & try to have the girls bond with him closely. Great news!!! They bonded well... It was really nice to have they, actually, play with him - pet him - rub him under the neck... and he seemed to enjoy every moment of their pampering.

Please send your comments... Danielle's School AdmissionToday is my younger daughter's School Admission. We've got an appointment at 10:30am at the Indian Community School. Got all the documents and necessary payments ready to begin the process.
Its quite amazing when you think of it… Just awhile back, you child was born. You and your spouse carrying her, wondering how long time you have left before she / he goes to school. Before you know it, she’s getting prepared for school… then you wonder how long have you left before she / he is off to college or university… Then during the graduation you wonder work / marriage????
That’s how fast life travels…
Got another hour before I leave to pick up my wife & Danielle. I have this habit of being present at least 15 to 30 minutes before my appointment. I will keep you posted on the outcome.
UPDATE:
Danielle was interviewed by the school counsellor. The interview was held in a different manner as compared to 3 years back when Crystal had her turn. The new interview was tested on the following ground:
1) Does the child recognize & can tell random English Alphabets & Numbers from the shapes
2) Does the child recognize & can tell colors from some objects
3) Does the child recognize, can tell, place objects such as Aeroplace, Car, Train, etc. from a puzzle board
Danielle was able to do all the above and was congratulated on her selection
I'm sure Crystal was having fun & we did not to spoil it for her by visiting her classroom. I'll be getting updates when she comes back home... 1월 15일 Our 9th Wedding AnniversaryBelieve it or not! Bena & myself, have come to our 9th Wedding Anniversary today. Hurray!!
It is hard to believe that, not long ago, we were getting all the final preps done for the evening… My family (brothers) and family friends, spend the morning decorating the Reception Hall at Messila Beach, Kuwait. My dad was at my cousin’s place (temporary residence for my wife), ironing her wedding gown… When it comes to ironing as perfection, nothing can beat my dad… After decorating the reception hall, my brothers and friends came back to home and got down busy on decorating the Wedding Carriage, car. And you may ask what was I doing? My mum was guarding me, “The groom is not do anything… Nor go to see the Bride-to-be… No communication of any sort to the Bride-to-be…” The anxiety was killing me… but I had to be patient… Not knowing what’s happening in the outside world, I had only my imagination to company my thoughts. At last, it turned 5:00pm, the Photographers & Video camera crew came over to begin the festivities… My youngest brother, Agnelo, was the Bestman… I helped him get ready, coz he had been busy helping Michael, my other brother, with the decorations. Click, click – shoot, shoot… began the capturing of the moments… Pictures with the family (dad, mum & brothers) – next only brothers (the 3 amigos)… What I hear, no sisters… sad to say, we never had sisters but we had plenty of cousins sisters to make up for our missing halves. This followed the traditional blessing of the family and relatives to the Bridegroom… After the crew finished at my place, they rushed out to the bride’s place… Click, click – shoot, shoot… at the bride’s place… She had her Mum, Flora, from Goa besides her… Some of my relatives also joined her as a part of her family… {My family’s really huge – think of it as an extended family…} After blessing was bestowed upon the Bride – all set out to the Church. The time had come… We were joined in Holy Matrimony by His Lordship Francis Micallef, the Bishop of Kuwait at the time. As we entered the Church, the little decorated aisle seemed like a long stream of loving hearts waiting to joins us in the bonds of marriage. Of course, these again were decorated by my brothers. His Lordship was very generous with our celebration that he let the choir sing all their hymns without any objections. The celebration was very enlightened. Now to let you on a small funny secret… I was so over excited that I got confused on the proper way on holding our arms while leaving. I stood on the wrong side of the bride… LOL!! Some may say that’s bad luck – some may say that’s good luck… I know for sure, after 9 years, we have been blessed with 2 wonderful girls – a wonderful family on both sides of the knot… A wonderful peaceful life… and more that would like to mention but may take up my allocated space.
Next we headed to the Reception Hall at Mesilla Beach… Our MC, Merywn Pereira, now a very close friend of the family… through his years of experience granted that guest will not turn up at the time set – 8:30pm… Given that it was Ramadan & Indian crowd… the suggested time of Guest arrival would be around 10 to 10:30pm…. BUT he was kind of surprise when he noticed the guest were already in & the hall was full!! He gave the go sign to begin the evening, right away… As we entered the beautifully decorated hall, the band playing our welcoming song… the Guest showering their Confetti’s as blessing upon us… I noticed that friends and relatives, cancelled on prior engagements to make it for our reception… That was overwhelming to see…
The evening was a great success because the Band, Stepping Stones, gave one of their best performances – the crowd danced the whole night long… There was race – creed – color – caste that seemed to have interfered in the evening celebration… This is one of those times when you feel the globe is universal… We had whole mix of people that evening, Indians – Pakistanis – Kuwaitis – Lebanese – Egyptians - Philippines… I might had left out some others but its still one united family that evening. We expected to have a maximum crowd of 500 but there turned out to be 550… That made the occasion from good to grand Sometimes, life is strange in this way… When you least expect something to go your way – it does and it turns our to be the best… I thank one and all who made it to our wedding, physically and in spirit. 1월 9일 SMS Greetings receivedTo all friends and relatives who sent me love, luck and best wishes for 2006... Good Morning to You. 1월 8일 Happy belated Birthday Bena & New Year 2007I felt a little better on New year... A miracle of the New Year, I guess...
You see, Bena will never give herself a break, even if the party is for her. She makes sure that she always has something prepared by her - meaning I could never have a surprise party for her or else I'm dead! (just kidding).
Sorry for the delay in Posting
My wife spent these holidays waking up, preparing Ginger & Honey paste as a morning syrup. Later a good breakfast with Ginger Tea. But I body didn't seem to understand her trouble and did not respond too well. I felt sorry for my wife... Her birthday was on the 30th of December and we didn't do anything... I mean, no party - no gifts for her... Our Christmas DayOur Christmas day, on the whole, was fun... My kids woke up in the morning and were over joyed to see the gifts from Santa left them at night. Both toys proved to be education because they couldn't wait to start learning its use.
We were invited to my Dad's for Lunch and there are some pics of the same in the album (click on the image above). Between lunch and dinner, we had couple of visitors come over to our home and really kept our day filled. For dinner, we had an invitation to my brother's place... He had a table full of dishes prepared (of course, it was prepared by his wife)... To top of things of the table, he had a Turkey prepared... Wow, big and grilled well with all the stuffing and the works...
Like life in Kuwait... the day passes by real quick and before you know a month has passed by. That was Christmas day. |
